Inspiration
- Chicken
Soup for the Surviving Soul - yes, of course you need this book!
- Thanks
for the Mammogram! : Fighting Cancer With Faith, Hope, and a Healthy
Dose of Laughter - treats the subject with humour, but also
enormous sensitivity.
- Love,
Medicine and Miracles - the classic book by Bernie Siegel. Very
inspirational. Be warned that some people find his attitudes offensive,
in particular, his implication that people bring cancer on themselves
through negative thinking.
- Cancer
as a Turning Point - encourages you to treat cancer as an opportunity
to put things right in your life that you've been putting off.
- Grace
and Grit - the best book for caregivers available. The personal
journey of the writer and his wife who died of breast cancer; a very
honest, compassionate account. This is one of five books I'd take to
a desert island.
- Healing
Lessons - a doctor's account of his wife's stomach cancer, and
how it changed his attitude.
- Kitchen
Table Wisdom : Stories That Heal - real-life inspirational
parables.
- Close
to the Bone : Life-Threatening Illness and the Search for Meaning
- An exploration of the psychological and spiritual value of death,
loss, and illness.
- There's
No Place Like Hope : A Guide to Beating Cancer in Mind-Sized Bites
- "Fear doesnt defeat cancer. Empowered treatment defeats
cancer".
